【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesmethodsthatmaybeusedtorepairdamagedhot-dipgalvanizedcoatingsonhardware,structuralshapes,andotherproductsfabricatedpriortohot-dipgalvanizing,anduncoatedareasremainingafterinitialhot-dipgalvanizing.Thedamagemaybetheresultofweldingorcutting(flame),inwhichcasethecoatingwillbedamagedpredominantlybyburning.Thispracticecanalsobeusedtorepairhot-dipgalvanizedcoatingsdamagedbyexcessivelyroughhandlingduringshippingorerection.Requirementsconcerningtherenovationofuncoatedareasremainingafterinitialhot-dipgalvanizingarecontainedwithintheapplicablematerialspecification.1.2Thispracticedescribestheuseoflowmeltingpointzincalloyrepairrodsorpowdersmadespecificallyforthispurpose,theuseofpaintscontainingzincdust,andtheuseofsprayedzinc(metallizing).1.3Theextentofrepairshallbelimitedtoanareamutuallyagreeabletothecontractingparties.Similarly,contractingpartiesshallagreetotherepairmethodtobeused.1.4Thisspecificationisapplicabletoordersineitherinch-poundunits(asA780)orinSIunits(asA780M).Inch-poundunitsandSIunitsarenotnecessarilyexactequivalents.Withinthetextofthisspecificationandwhereappropriate,SIunitsareshowninbrackets.Eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheotherwithoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
