【摘要】:Generalcorrosionischaracterizedbyareasofgreaterorlesserattack,throughouttheplant,ataparticularlocation,orevenonaparticularprobe.Therefore,theestimationofcorrosionrateaswithmasslosscouponsinvolvesanaveragingacrossthesurfaceoftheprobe.Allowancemustbemadeforthefactthatareasofgreaterorlesserpenetrationusuallyexistonthesurface.Visualinspectionoftheprobeelement,coupon,orelectrodeisrequiredtodeterminethedegreeofinterferenceinthemeasurementcausedbysuchvariability.Thisvariabilityislesscriticalwhererelativechangesincorrosionratearetobedetected.BothelectricaltestmethodsdescribedinthisguideprovideatechniquefordeterminingcorrosionrateswithouttheneedtophysicallyenterthesystemtowithdrawcouponsasrequiredbythemethodsdescribedinGuideG4.TestMethodBhastheadditionaladvantageofprovidingcorrosionratemeasurementwithinminutes.Thesetechniquesareusefulinsystemswhereprocessupsetsorotherproblemscancreatecorrosiveconditions.Anearlywarningofcorrosiveattackcanpermitremedialactionbeforesignificantdamageoccurstoprocessequipment.Thesetechniquesarealsousefulwhereinhibitoradditionsareusedtocontrolthecorrosionofequipment.Theindicationofanincreasingcorrosionratecanbeusedtosignaltheneedforadditionalinhibitor.Controlofcorrosioninprocessequipmentrequiresaknowledgeoftherateofattackonanongoingbasis.Thesetestmethodscanbeusedtoprovidesuchinformationindigitalformateasilytransferredtocomputersforanalysis.TESTMETHODAx2014;ELECTRICALRESISTANCE(1-6)4Top1.1Thisguidecoverstheprocedureforconductingonlinecorrosionmonitoringofmetalsinplantequipmentunderoperatingconditionsbytheuseofelectricalorelectrochemicalmethods.Withinthelimitationsdescribed,thesetestmethodscanbeusedtodeterminecumulativemetallossorinstantaneouscorrosionrate,intermittentlyoronacontinuousbasis,withoutremovalofthemonitoringprobesfromtheplant.1.2Thefollowingtestmethodsareincluded:TestMethodAforelectricalresistance,andTestMethodBforpolarizationresistance.1.2.1TestMethodAprovidesinformationoncumulativemetalloss,andcorrosionrateisinferred.ThistestmethodrespondstotheremainingmetalthicknessexceptasdescribedinSection.1.2.2TestMethodBisbasedonelectrochemicalmeasurementsfordeterminationofinstantaneouscorrosionratebutmayrequirecalibrationwithothertechniquestoobtaintruecorrosionrates.Itsprimaryvalueistherapiddetectionofchangesinthecorrosionratethatmaybeindicativeofundesirablechangesintheprocessenvironment.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretobeconsideredstandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin5.6.
