【摘要】:Sincethereisnoreliablemethodofpredictingtheoverallstrengthanddeformationdataofarockmassfromtheresultsoflaboratorytestsonsmallspecimens,insitutestsonlargespecimensarenecessary.Suchtestsalsohavetheadvantagethattherockspecimenistestedundersimilarenvironmentalconditionsasprevailingfortherockmass.Sincethestrengthofrockisdependentonthesizeofthetestspecimen,itisnecessarytotestseveralspecimens(laboratoryorfield,orboth)ofprogressivelyincreasingsizeuntilanasymptoticallyconstantstrengthvalueisfound.Thisvalueistakentorepresentthestrengthoftherockmass.3,4Note18212;Notwithstandingthestatementsonprecisionandbiascontainedinthistestmethod;theprecisionofthistestmethodisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting.UsersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliabletesting.Reliabletestingdependsonmanyfactors.PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthedeformabilityandstrengthoflargeinsituspecimensofweakrockbyauniaxial-compressivetest.Thetestresultstakeintoaccounttheeffectofbothintactmaterialbehaviorandthebehaviorofdiscontinuitiescontainedwithinthespecimenblock.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
