【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbrick,havingaceramicglazefinishfusedtothebodyduringthesameprocessastheunitbodyfiring,thatareintendedforuseinmasonryandsupplyingstructuralorfacingcomponents,orboth,tothestructure.Thisspecificationdoesnotcoverdouble-firedglazedbrick.Somedouble-fireddecorativeglazeshavephysicalpropertieswhichvaryfromthoseofsingle-firedglazesduetothelowertemperaturesusedinapplyingthedecorativecoating.1.2Thepropertyrequirementsofthisspecificationapplyatthetimeofpurchase.Theuseofresultsfromtestingofbrickextractedfrommasonrystructuresfordeterminingconformanceornonconformancetothepropertyrequirementsofthisspecificationisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.3Glazedbrickareprismaticunitsavailableinavarietyofsizes,textures,colors,andshapes.Glazedbrickaremanufacturedfromclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringearthysubstancesandsubjectedtoaheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentshalldevelopafiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementsofthisspecification(seefiring,firedbond,glaze,andincipientfusioninTerminologyC43).1.4Glazedbrickareshapedduringmanufacturebymolding,pressing,orextrusion,andtheshapingmethodisawaytodescribethebrick.1.5Glazedbrickareclassifiedintooneoftwogrades,oneoftwotypes,oneoftwoclasses,andoneofthreedivisions.1.6Opacityoftheglazeisnotrequiredunlessspecifiedbythepurchaser.1.7Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisstandard.1.8Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
