【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtomeasuretheloadrequiredtotearleatherataslitcutperpendiculartoitssurface.Tannersandleatherbuyershavefoundthatitgivesanindicationoftheresistanceofthecross-sectionalthicknessofleathertotearing.Itisofparticularvalueinestimatingthedurabilityofleathertowithstandtearingstressesencounteredinthemanufactureofshoes,garments,andupholsteredproducts.Thethicknessofthespecimenanddirectionofslitrelativetothebackbonewillaffecttheuniformityofthetestresults.Thistestmethodmaynotapplywhentheconditionsofthetestemployeddifferwidelyfromthosespecifiedinthetestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheslittearresistanceoflightleatherssuchasshoeuppers,gloves,andupholstery.Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytowetblue.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thesevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
