【摘要】:Ameasurementofafabric''sedgecombresistanceindicatestherelativetendencyofafabrictopullapartunderseamstressorsimilaraction.Therelatedconceptsofyarnslippageandseamslippagearelimitedtosewnseams,whereasthemeasurementofedgecombresistanceismadeattheedgeofacutpartintheabsenceofasewnseam.TheabsenceofasewnseaminthistestmethodeliminatestheeffectthataparticularstitchmighthaveonthetendencyofayarntoslipnearanedgeofacutpartThistestmethodisusefulformaterialdesignevaluationsinsuchapplicationsasairbagsinwhichseamstressisamajorconcern.ThismethodmaybeusedasacomplementtoTestMethodD5822.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheproceduresfordeterminingtheresistancetoedgecombingofawovenfabricusedininflatablerestraints.1.2Proceduresandapparatusotherthanthosestatedinthisstandardmaybeusedbyagreementofpurchaserandsupplierwiththespecificdeviationsfromthestandardpracticeacknowledgedinthereport.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentoftheother.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
